This study clarifies how children act independently when they can creatively express themselves in an environment allowing freedom of choice during infancy and childhood. To explain the types of activities involved, the study describes "Art Education" by Yasumasa Sone, which prioritizes spontaneity and which has been practiced by the author for many years, and the three environmental conditions believed to be of utmost importance-human environment, physical environment, and spatial environment.

Furthermore, behavioral records of representative children participating in the art club and workshop conducted by the author, questionnaire results, and freely written descriptions of children's behaviors, completed with the guardians' cooperation (or by the guardians themselves), were analyzed.
