The Nociceptin/Orphanin FQ (N/OFQ) peptide NOP receptor is coupled to pertussis toxin (PTX)-sensitive G proteins (G i/o ) whose activation leads to the inhibition of both cAMP production and calcium channel activity, and to the stimulation of potassium currents.
