Abstrak: Dalam kegiatan pembelajaran tidak hanya diperlukan peran guru sebagai pendidik di sekolah untuk mengembangkan potensi anak, namun juga diperlukannya kepedulian orangtua terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Hasil observasi awal ditemukan ada hubungan antara pola asuh orangtua dan kemandirian anak autis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara pola asuh orang tua (Y) dan kemandirian anak autis (X) di SLB Autis Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang.

Data dianalisis dengan analisis korelasional Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian: terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pola asuh orang tua (X) dan kemandirian anak autis (Y) dimana nilai korelasi spearman rho sebesar 0.873 dengan taraf signifikansi 0.000. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah adanya hubungan linier positif dan searah antara pola asuh orang tua (X) dan kemandirian anak autis (Y) dan memiliki hubungan yang kuat. Abstract: In the learning activity, it not only needs teachers played role as educator in school in order to develop child's potentials; however, it also needs parent's care to the child's growth and development. The result of initial observation found the relationship between parenting and independence of child with autism. This research aims to know the relationship between parenting (X) and independence of child with autism (Y) in Extraordinary School of Autism Laboratory State University of Malang. This research conducted by using quantitative method and correlational research design. Data collection performed by using questionnaire and observation. Data analyzed by using correlational analysis of Rank Spearman. The research result showed that there was significant relationship between parenting (X) and independence of child with autism (Y) where Spearman correlational value was 0.873 with significance level of 0.000. Conclusion from this research was there was positively linear relationship between parenting (X) and independence of child with autism (Y) as well as had strong relationship.
