The pressurized high-speed water flows together with the Al 2 O 3 particles forms slurry used in abrasive water jet machining (AWJM) to slice specimens. This approach is particularly appropriate for fragile, soft and strident materials. D3 tool steel used as a sample size of 200 x 200 x 23 mm has excellent strength and is also suitable for high-temperature machining operations.
