Application of Mesoporous SnO2 Materials in Dye-sensitized Solar Cells and Lithium Batteries

SnO2 is widely known as an excellent wide band gap (3.5~4.0eV) n-type semiconductor material, which has low resistance, high visible light transmittance, excellent film strength and chemical stability. In the past decades, tin oxides are increasingly used in solar cells, liquid crystal display, optoelectronic devices, infrared detection protection and other fields. more » ... heir applications in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and lithium-ion batteries. In conclusion, we improved the DSSC photoelectric conversion efficiency by 28% through designing contrast experiments of factors such as calcination temperature, particle size, furnish and Pt electrode. And we identified the best SnO2 calcination temperature of 600 degrees for its application in lithium batteries, which was proofed to maintain 288 mAh/g capacity even after 50 cycles of charge and discharge.
