Influence of the composition of the adsorbent "hygroscopic salt/aluminum oxide" on its physicochemical properties

The paper presents the research results of physicochemical characteristics, adsorption kinetics and value of adsorption capacity with respect to water vapors of the composite adsorbent "CaCl2 -aluminum oxide". Sorbent synthesized by centrifugal thermal activation of hydrargillite and its subsequent hydration in mild conditions was used as a carrier. It was shown that, in the studied range of change in the CaCl2 content of the adsorbent (8.6-15.5% mass.), a sample containing 13.8% mass. of CaCl2
more » ... 3.8% mass. of CaCl2 was the most promising when used as a desiccant. This sample was characterized by static capacitance that was higher than 20 g/100 g, by quite high dynamic capacitance of 5.8 g/100 cm 3 and good mechanical strength of 4.9 MPa.
