The design and analysis of step impedance resonator (SIR) based, compact and band-notch UWB antenna, to minimize the potential interference between wide-band (UWB) and narrow-band (WLAN), has been presented in this paper. The notched band covers the 5.15 GHz to 5.85 GHz WLAN range. The frequency band has been obtained by embedding a SIR near the radiating patch of the antenna.
