The first part of the study was oriented towards developing the theoretical and methodological basis for adapting public relations to the diplomatic activity of the Holy See. The next part of the study focused on the issue of their optimal use by the institutions organising the Holy See's diplomacy. Particularly explored were those structural-procedural elements and legal-organisational culture that impinge on the way PR philosophy and strategy are adapted to the Holy See's diplomatic activities. The last part of the work was devoted to verifying the contribution of PR to the management of the activity of the Church's diplomatic service. This task was carried out using the case study method. The Sino-Vatican mutual relations (bilateral level) and the involvement of Holy See representatives in the preparation and conduct of the Cairo Population Conference (multilateral level) were analysed.
