In this paper, we present the results of a pilot study regarding students' perceptions (age 13-14) on the use of web-based learning material (WBLM) for learning chemistry, designed with an accent on macroscopic and submicroscopic level of representation. Apart from the symbolic level, which is not taught at this age, these are the three levels that chemical concepts should be represented in teaching chemistry.
