In this article I intend to show part of the originality of the Chilean philosopher Juan Rivano. For which I resort to the presentation of two critical ideas to a couple of theoretical currents that are fundamental to other Latin American liberation philosophies that enjoy greater diffusion. I will present this Chilean philosopher from a perspective close to post-colonial theories from his critique of philosophical universalism and his intention to carry out a situated thought.
