This work presents the synthesis and characterization of biopolymer pectin-based polymer electrolyte. Proton conducting polymer electrolytes consisting of pectin as host polymer and ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) as complexing salt in different compositions have been prepared by solution casting technique using distilled water as solvent and characterized by FTIR, AC impedance spectroscopy and UV-Visible spectral analyses.
