The Effect of Biochar and Organic Fertilizer on Rice Productivity in the Rainfed Paddy Fields of Mempawah Regency. The study aims to obtain specific technology packages for the location of rice cultivation using biochar and organic fertilizer in rainfed lowland in Mempawah District. The study was conducted in the farmland of Anjungan Melancar village, Anjongan District, Mempawah Regency, from April to October 2016. The first factor was the farmer technology cultivation package (control), the second factor was the package biochar technology (A), the third factor of straw compost (B) cultivation package. The assessment area is 2.3 ha. Soil sampling and analysis of soil chemical properties were carried out before the study and after the study. From the results of variance shows that the technology package A (Biochar) and package B (Straw Compost Fertilizer) have no significant effect on vegetative growth (plant height, number of tillers). A technology package (biochar) has an effect on grain production with an increased of 33.46% compared to control.Employee benefits in rice farming are not yet competitive compared to the minimum daily wage in the nonagricultural sector. The partial budget analysis showed the biochar technology package can provided additional farming profits of around Rp 2,460,500 per hectare
