Objective: The diagnosis of thyroid tumors is based on histologic features, but the distinction between benign and malignant thyroid lesions is somehow difficult, especially in lesions with a follicular pattern. Thus, ancillary studies, such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), may be helpful.
