Fungi are one of the most species-rich and diverse groups of organisms on Earth, with forests ecosystems being the main habitats for macro-fungi. The Kilum-Ijim forest in Cameroon is a community forest populated by several species of plant and animal life forms; although macro-fungi are exploited for food and medicine, their diversity has not been documented in this ecosystem.
