Na,O, + 2SOC1, = 2NaC1 + SO, + SO,Cl,. From these experiments the authors conclude that sulfuryl chloride is always one of the products of the action of thionyl chloride on a peroxide, and that a sulfate of the metal is always formed when the reagent is not present in decided excess.
