... Abstract After the acceptance of Islam by Turks, the use of Arabic and Persian in Turkish states has become widespread and these languages are used as science and art language. The increasing importance given to these languages, which have become effective in art activities, science and from time to time, has revealed the necessity of learning Arabic and Persian in Turkish cultural life. Verse dictionaries used for both the Holy Qur'an, the hadiths and the Islamic culture to be thoroughly understood were used to teach Arabic and Persian to children from an early age and to gain the rules of the aruz. The verse dictionaries prepared for the effective teaching of Arabic and Persian have also been used in the teaching of other foreign languages. The number of dictionaries prepared in accordance with this tradition has increased with time. Especially in the 20th century, verse dictionaries were used in the teaching of Western languages. The fact that the verse dictionaries used in teaching of basic vocabulary and teaching of basic grammar rules are frequently used resources in foreign language teaching makes them worthy of research. With the perspective that Saussure added to the field of linguistics, the studies of linguistics have gained a new dimension and the studies focusing on the meaning dimension of language have been given importance and emphasis was given to studies on the meaning dimension of language. As a result of these studies, "concept area" trend has emerged and the principles of this movement have gained a value which is used and taken into consideration especially in the field of language teaching. It has been determined that in modern verse dictionaries, according to the principles of the concept area, a concept has been adopted in contemporary language studies. It is noteworthy that the verse dictionaries, which were prepared for the teaching of foreign languages many years ago and which are the products of a tradition are the ones that coincide with "concept area theory" which is one of the important theories of contemporary linguistics. In this study, the concept area elements in the verse dictionaries and the method used in the verse Klâsik Türk Edebiyatında Farsça-Türkçe Manzum Sözlüklerin Kavram Alanı ve Yöntem Bağlamında Değerlendirilmesi  dictionaries and how they will contribute to the study of teaching Turkish as a language have been emphasized.In this study, the dictionaries which were written as Persian-Turkish verse dictionaries called Tuhfe-i Mukaddimetü'l-Lügat, Güher-rîz, Nazm-ı Bedî, Tuhfe-i Vehbi, Tuhfe-i Sâhidi and Tuhfe-i Mukaddimetü'l-Luga which were examined.
