board per annum ; a pauper lunatic, about one franc per diem. He feeds like the family of the nourricier. If his case be curable, he is visited once a week by a doctor; if incurable, once a month. If possible he is induced to work, and he receives a trifle for his work, which he spends in extra comforts. He is free to go about as he pleases all day within the limits of the commune.
