A new species of Gehyra Gray, 1834 (Reptilia: Gekkonidae) with two allopatric subspecies, G. koira koira ssp. nov. and G. koira ipsa ssp. nov., is described. A member of the G. australis species complex, G. koira sp. nov. is distinguished from congeners by a combination of morphometric and meristic characteristics. The two subspecies are allopatric in distribution and show morphological differentiation. The species is saxicoline and occurs on sandstone ranges and outliers in the Ord-Victoria
