The Portuguese painter Almada Negreiros, from the mid-20th century, used to say that he did not like people who could not draw themselves. It seems to us that drawing is a human faculty as important as speaking at an early age. Actually, every child draws and draws herself both in and out of school. Drawing has been part of art education since its beginnings. Today, as in the past, drawing is a skill to be developed in early learning and lifelong.
