The aim of this paper is to investigate the changes in the mechanical and thermal properties of Commercial High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) sheets that use in lining disposal pits of petroleum waste due to exposure gamma rays. This paper consists of two parts. First, RESRAD-BUILD code has been used to evaluate the total effective dose that can be received by HDPE due to the gamma radiation introduced from the contained sludge.
