cumulative beam breakup in linear accelerators with arbitrary beam current profile. The same formalism could be used to investigate the beam breakup-enhanced displacement due to the misalignment of the cavities and the focusing elements. In this paper this analytical formalism is extended and applied to investigate the behavior of beams in misaligned pulsed and cw linear accelerators.
