The 1800 MHz frequency spectrum is one of the popular spectrums among the world's telecommunications operators that are capable of supporting LTE services. This spectrum has the advantage of increasing data service capacity, wide signal coverage, and has a large frequency resource. In this research a 2 element microstrip array antenna that works on the 1.8 GHz frequency by adding U-slot and using direct feed technique was designed. more » ... ness of 1.6 mm and a dielectric constant of 4.4. The antenna design process starts with a mathematical calculation and then simulation using the Ansoft HFSS 2013 software. After that, the fabricated antenna had been measured and analyzed in order to find out whether the antenna has matched with the specifications. The results show that the antenna has return loss of -14.55 dB, VSWR of 1.4, bandwidth of 111 MHz, and gain of 3.27 dB.
