Case Report of Fascioliasis with Fever Abdominal Pain and Jaundice

Infection of fasciola hepatica (Termatoda: fasciolidae) has different clinical presentations. This parasitic infestation is prevalent in domestic livestock and human in Northern provinces of Iran. Case Report: A case of fasciola hepatica infestation with fever, chills, abdominal pain and jaundice (cholangitis) is presented whose diagnosis was confirmed by positive serology test, CT scan, surgical and histological observation of the parasite. Conclusion: According to the high prevalence of this parasitic infestation in Iran and considering the above mentioned clinical presentations, it seems that fascioliasis must be considened as one of the causes of choleductal obstruction and cholangitis.
