The central United States is an ideal site for studying intraplate deformation such as intraplate seismic zones and cratonic basins whose formation cannot be explained within the simple framework of the plate tectonics. In this project, I would like to investigate some hypothesized theories regarding the origin of the Wabash Valley Seismic Zone and the Illinois Basin, such as basement tectonics and quaternary grabens revealed by seismic reflection profiling, geodetic observations of activedoi:10.6084/m9.figshare.7413623 fatcat:z2eqd4imqvc6daasdnkrkr45hu
