This is a prospective study of 105 thyroid specimens during one-year period with the aim of evaluation of the prevalence and pattern of thyroid cancer in multinodular goiter. Only specimens with histologically proved multiple nodules were considered. Carcinomas were found in 8 cases (7.6%). The incidence was higher in males (11%) than in females (6.8%).
