more » ... existent criteria to obtain the strength reduction factors by displacement ductility with respect to the Riddel and Newmark´s criterion (1979), which is the basis for the inelastics design spectra of the CSCR-2002, was made. The desamplification concept referred to the elastic design spectra proposed by Miranda (1993) presents a better fitting with the strength reduction factors´expected behavior. The differences between both criteria are present in all the ductilities and in all the period ranges, in the moment of the comparison between the spectral values.
