The axisymmetric bending and stretching of circular and annular functionally graded plates with variable thicknesses under combined thermal-mechanical loading and various boundary conditions are investigated. The mechanical and thermal properties of functionally graded material (FGM) are assumed to vary continuously throughout the thickness of a plate in accordance with a simple power law of volume fraction of constituent material.
