The development of the Arctic is associated with many names of famous polar explorers. The people of legend are all part of the collective memory of the Arctic. Roald Amudsen himself has won worldwide fame for his daring expeditions and discoveries. The entire scientific and cultural world admired his achievements in the conquest of the Arctic and Antarctic. The documents testify to the voluntary assistance provided by the residents of Taimyr — both Russian and indigenous inhabitants of the tundra.
