Implementation Process of Curriculum Administration Practiced by Group of Curriculum Administrators at Secondary Schools in Klang Valley

This case study is designed to explore the process of implementation of co curricular management at secondary schools among 10 teachers who are involved as a group of co-curricular management in two states Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. This study was implemented based on management theories Stoner, Freedmen and Gilbert (1995) and also Gulick's principle of management (1954) with minor alterations to fit the study needs. Data were obtained from three techniques which are in-depth interview, observation and document analysis.Participant selection was based on purposive sampling methods, in order to facilitate an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon in question. The analysis and data collection process was conducted simultaneously and continuously until data saturation was achieved. The results of the research show that all participants have given their opinions about the implementation and also the process of co-curricular management at the secondary school. Generally, this study shows that co-curricular management used four aspects to manage co-curricular activities at school in order to maintain the excellence of co-curricular programs. The five aspects are: planning, organizing, leadership, control and community involvement.
