For a long time, restraint, marginalisation and resolute disregard formed the political strategy for dealing with religious education in public kindergartens in Austria – despite its increasing attention by media. In recent years the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and the City of Vienna have published new legal texts and educational guidelines dealing explicitly with religions and world views.
