Robust control and flexible operation are the major objectives of islanded microgrid. A microgrid can have different configurations with linear loads and nonlinear loads. The harmonic current caused by nonlinear loads make Proportional Integral (PI) or Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) voltage controller far beyond excellent performance in case of microgrid operating in islanded mode.
