Detection and Prevention of Cooperative Black Hole Attack in MANET Using PEI

the main aim of this research paper is to study about MANET (Mobile ad hoc Networks) and security attacks present in MANET. MANETs are Powerless against different types of attacks that are present at different layers. Black Hole Attack is an External attack and present at Network Layer. Black Hole Attack Present itself having the shortest route to the destination, but actually it doesn't have any information about the route to destination and after getting the packets it will drop all the
more » ... drop all the packets. Cooperative Black Hole Attack is an attack in which two or more black hole nodes are working in a group. In our proposed work we using PEI (Plain Encryption identifier) to detect and prevent the Cooperative black hole attack. In our proposed method we are assigning an identity to every node present in the network by using PEI. As the route request is send to next node it will first check the PEI number, if the request is from a node having PEI number than it will accept the request. Than the destination node decrypt the request by using RSA algorithm and send the route reply message to the source node. Cooperative Black Hole nodes will send the route reply without decrypting the PEI and source node will detect this malicious attack and choose a different path for sending the data packets.
