A Case of Gallbladder Metastasis from Renal Cell Carcinoma

We report a case of gallbladder metastasis from renal cell carcinoma. A 71-year-old man underwent radical nephrectomy and extended cholecystectomy under the diagnosis of right renal cell carcinoma and primary gallbladder carcinoma. Histologically, both the renal and gallbladder tumors were classified as clear cell carcinoma. Immunohistochemically, the gallbladder tumor was negative for CEA, CK7 and CK20, but positive for CD10. more » ... he renal cell carcinoma. Gallbladder metastasis from renal cell carcinoma is relatively rare, with only 35 cases, including our present case, reported in the Japanese literature. We reviewed the literature, and discuss the clinical and histopathologic features, preoperative diagnoses, operative procedures, and prognoses of the reported cases.
