Current research work deals with screening of secondary metabolites and antibacterial potential of Rhizoma zingiberis, Cuminum cyminum L., Curcuma longa L., Piper nigrum L. and Cinnamomum tamala the Indian spices. Ethanol and water were used for preparation of test extracts. The present Indian spices found rich in secondary metabolites and shown presence of significant antimicrobial properties.
