In this work we investigate the proof of concept of metal (Cobalt) doped silica membranes for H 2 /CO 2 separation in single and multi tube membrane modules, in addition to a membrane reactor (M R) configuration for the high temperature water gas shift (WGS) reaction. The membranes were prepared by a sol-gel process using tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) in ethanol and H 2 O 2 with cobalt nitrate hexahydrate (Co(NO 3 ) 2 6H 2 O).
