A significant number of ship locks in the Netherlands are due for renovation during the coming decades. To achieve this, Rijkswaterstaat (RWS), the executive branch of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, is investigating the options to meet the specific requirements, while allowing the necessary variety in the configuration of locks.
