Usability Evaluation Technique of HMI Based on Bidirectional Primary-Secondary Task Method Using Driver's Decision Vagueness Index in Vehicle Following
This paper shows a technique for evaluation of the in-car device placement design. Bidirectional primary-secondary task method is introduced to evaluate both of the driving performance during the in-car device operation and the in-car device operation performance during the driving. While the operation performance is evaluated easily based on the success rate of the device operation and so on, the driving performance is evaluated based on the index of the decision making ability of the driver.
