Preparation and analytical usefulness of five methyl and two chloro substituted hydroxytriazenes have been described. Out of these compounds, 3-hydroxy-1,3.p. ditolyltriazene is found to be highly selective reagent for the gravimetric estimation of copper and palladium. It gives more stable complexes and has more favourable conversion factor than the unsubstituted hydroxytriazene.
