The first Model V-94, the world's largest single shaft gas turbine in operation, was placed in service more than ten years ago. To date the V-94 has been uprated to 141 MW ISO-baseload output and 20 units are in service. In addition a 60-cycle version has been derived on the basis of the latest V-94 experience. This paper describes the development, the various applications and the operating experiences with the V-94 gas turbines.
