Within the framework of different educational reforms aiming at the improvement of our educational system, learning a foreign language is the priority of the Ministry of Education and Science. The national strategy of pre-university educational system points out that: Linguistic policies of the Ministry of Education and Science are developed in line with our national development and they also respect the policies of Council of Europe. more » ... of Europe are taken into consideration: plurilingualism and pluriculturalism, by giving a great importance not only to foreign languages but also to the languages of minorities. The basis of the language curricula is the Common European Framework of References (CEFR). The European Language Portfolio is also considered a very important document for users to show their abilities in the acquisition of foreign languages. They also have the possibility to fill in a self-assessment grid. So when we set different objectives for teaching a foreign language, for initial and continuous teacher education, but also when we compile school manuals for foreign languages we have to take the CEFR into consideration.
