The identified lexical patterns and cohesiveness in each of the poems were used to derive the theme. The lexical patterns, cohesiveness and derived themes were validated by experienced literature teachers. Results reveal that the poems are rich in lexical patterns and majority of them are cohesive. Hence, the derivation of theme is easier and faster.
