2021 Digital contention in a divided society  
A content analysis of newspaper coverage of the Ardoyne parade disputes was conducted between April and June 2018. The corpus (N = 44) was generated by searching for 'Ardoyne' in the 'Irish newspapers' catalogue within the LexisNexis database. Articles that didn't directly address the parade impasse, as well as letters from readers, were purposefully omitted from the study due the focus on how these newspapers framed the parade dispute in both years. more » ... for the News Letter, which was a surprising result given its position as one of the three most read newspapers in the region. Nevertheless, four papers that featured (Belfast Telegraph, Irish News, Irish Times and Sunday Life) were considered broadly representative of the media coverage of the disputes.
