The paper presents the scope and research activities, both analytical and experimental, to be carried out on the Danish Island of Bornholm under the 4-year (2019-2023) H2020 Insulae project. The two use cases taking place in Denmark are described. The first use case is dedicated to modelling and testing a low-voltage DC microgrid comprising a battery storage, renewable energy sources, and an EV fast charger, towards providing grid services.
