Study of wireless power transfer to a surgical energy device

In order to apply the Wireless Power Transfer technology for Surgical Energy Devices, we propose a triple coil transfer system using a small and passive relay coil located at a trocar. We derived suitable coil configuration by magneto-static analysis and made the experimental system. As a result, we showed 39% transmission efficiency at total distance 55cm. In addition we confirmed that the system had robust stability against the receiver coil's tilt angle ±75 degrees without adjusting the matching impedance.
