For long time, numerous efforts have been made to find a way of performing a comprehensive three-dimensional photoelastic analysis with a model intact, even so the problem is still far from being solved completely because of the difficulties how to realize the integrated fringe patterns obtained in measurements under continuous rotation of the prineipal birefringence axes.
