Development of SETS-Based Teaching Materials in Acid-Base Accompanied by Critical Thinking Exercises and Moral Forming

This study aims to produce SETS-based teaching materials in acid-base concept that can foster students' critical thinking skills and establish their morale. more » ... esistances and obstacles, observation sheets in learning, interview guidelines, validation sheets of teaching materials draft, and legibility response questionnaires. Data obtained from questionnaires, learning observation sheets, and interview guidelines were analyzed descriptively qualitatively to get the representation of the learning process that has been conducted so far. The validation sheet and legibility response questionnaire were analyzed quantitatively to determine the validity and legibility levels of teaching materials. The results of expert validation show that the developed teaching materials have a direct link between science, the environment, technology and society in solving problems related to daily life and the students as users give positive responses to the developed teaching materials in terms of content, appearance, novelty, problems, direction and work instructions. Thus, teaching materials developed are valid and proper to be used in the learning process. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar konsep asam-basa berbasis SETS yang dapat menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan membentuk moral mahasiswa. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) yang mengacu pada model Borg and Gall yang telah dimodifikasi menjadi lima tahap, yaitu studi pendahuluan, penyusunan draf produk, validasi dan revisi draf produk, uji keterbacaan dan revisi draf produk. Instrument penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket hambatan dan kendala, lembar observasi pembelajaran, pedoman wawancara, lembar validasi draf bahan ajar dan angket respon keterbacaan. Data yang diperoleh dari angket, lembar observasi pembelajaran dan pedoman wawancara dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif sehingga diperoleh gambaran tentang proses pembelajaran yang selama ini dilakukan, sedangkan lembar validasi dan angket respon keterbacaan dianalisis secara kuantitatif untuk menentukan tingkat kelayakan dan 135 EduChemia,Vol.5, No.2, 2020 Rasmawan e-ISSN 2502-4787 keterbacaan dari bahan ajar. Hasil validasi pakar menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan telah memiliki keterkaitan langsung antara science, lingkungan, teknologi dan masyarakat dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari serta mahasiswa selaku pengguna memberikan respon positif terhadap bahan ajar yang dikembangkan ditinjau dari aspek isi, tampilan, kebaharuan, permasalahan, arahan dan petunjuk pengerjaan. Dengan demikian, bahan ajar yang dikembangkan valid dan layak digunakan di dalam proses pembelajaran.
