UML profiles are a frequently used alternative to describe the abstract syntax of modelling languages. As any abstract syntax, UML profiles evolve through time. As the UML profiles are used by models, their evolutions may have a direct impact on them. In order to manage these evolutions, a specific treatment is needed. The models have then to be fitted to the new profiles version. The manual adaptation cost of these models may be as important as building the adapted models from scratch.
