WoT (Web of Things) for Energy Management in a Smart Grid-Connected Home

This paper considers a case study of a smart grid-connected home in Australia that has solar photo-voltaic panels for distributed electricity generation and batteries for local energy storage. With a focus on Web of Things (WoT), this paper explores a strategy to facilitate management of electrical energy in the context of the emerging smart grid ideas that are consistent with sustainability practices. A dynamic adaptation is considered of the energies flowing between the smart grid, local solar panels and local storage batteries for powering the house with a view to reduce costs and greenhouse emissions.
