近年,オフィスや自宅を離れた屋外でのICTの活用が活発になってきている.その一例として,旅 行分野におけるICTの活用が旅行者にとって実際に便利かどうかを検証するために,ユビキタス観 光システムを開発し実験した.実証にあたっては,海外からの旅行者を含めた数十人による 2 回の利 用実験を行い,その結果をまとめた.開発したサービスでは,観光ガイドブック等の情報を,携帯電 話(アイフォン等を含む)をネットに接続して,静止画,動画,音声ガイド等としてGPSと連動させて閲 覧できる他,カメラ機能を活用して写真をマイページにアップロードし,旅行後にも,フォトメモリーや 他の旅行者へのお勧めスポットとして利用可能とするものである.結果としては,ガイドブックを携行 する煩雑さが避けられ,最新の情報が得られるなど好評であったが,歩行中に閲覧することによる事 故の発生等も想定されるなど,今後の研究の課題も残している. ... ped a new information system to provide tourists with information on the spots via mobile data networks where the information should include their history and culture in the forms of photos, movies, texts and audio-guides. Tourists can also upload their photos and share them with the others. The experiments have shown the system good and convenient for tourists as they can travel with the latest information without carrying heavy guidebooks.
