Leuzea (Rhaponticum carthamoides) is a valuable medicinal plant from Asteraceae. Micropropagation could be a good alternative for the mass propagation of Leuzea carthamoides. To investigate the callogenesis of leaf explants, 12 different hormonal combinations including different concentrations of 16-benzylaminopurine (BA) and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4-D) were studied in two separable experiments.
